The large brick building you see in the photo is Elohim Evangelical School. Inside those walls, our Cross partners are providing a Christian education and daily nutritious meals to 132 poor Peruvian children.
This rear-view of the facility did not seem particularly captivating until a volunteer explained that the dilapidated shack in the foreground used to be the entire school. A lot has changed in a decade! Even while we were on site, construction workers were adding new classrooms.
It’s encouraging to see how God prospers the work of his people, especially when our prayers become others-focused rather than self-focused. It reminds me of Jesus’ words in John 14, “Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing… And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
