Vietnam Storm Victims Send Thanks

During a recent trip to Vietnam, International Projects Director Mike Wilson received more thanks from our mission partners for the emergency aid we sent after two violent storms caused massive flooding and destruction.

In late September, a pair of violent storms swept through Vietnam, leaving a trail of death and destruction. Thanks to the response of generous Christians, we were able to provide funds to feed storm victims in several provinces throughout the country.
In late September, a pair of violent storms swept through Vietnam, leaving a trail of death and destruction. Thanks to the response of generous Christians, we were able to provide funds to feed storm victims in several provinces throughout the country.

With funds from our generous benefactors, SOMEDCO, a Christian outreach ministry we support in Ho Chi Minh, was able to distribute rice and noodles to the storm-battered people of six provinces whose crops and homes were destroyed by the storms.

The aid to SOMEDCO was part of a larger emergency aid campaign we started to help disaster victims in the Philippines and Vietnam. Several of our partners have expressed gratitude for our help, including this recent email from SOMEDCO:

Dear Cross International,

Thank you very much for your pioneer donation of $ 10,000 for the typhoon victims. The storms devastated several houses and crops, leaving the poor without even so much as food to eat.

Your support enabled us to provide food to these poor families. It also jump-started our fundraising efforts here in Vietnam.

May our Lord bless your ministry abundantly for this support.

In His service,

SOMEDCO
