Praise Report from Malawi!

When Isaac received chemotherapy he ministered to the other sick children saying, “Jesus will help you.” Praise the Lord for his faithfulness! Now Isaac is on the road to recovery after his cancerous growth disappeared.

Back in July we asked you to pray for nine-year-old Isaac, a brave little boy at Kondanani Children’s Village suffering from retinoblastoma, a form of eye cancer.

About a year ago Isaac had his left eye removed and we hoped that would bring lasting healing. But earlier this summer, a growth in his eye socket suddenly returned.

“I had this horrible feeling in my stomach,” said Annie Chikhwaza, founder of Kondanani, a Christian ministry that rescues orphaned and abandoned “throw-away” babies and raises them through adulthood. The doctors told her the aggressive cancer had entered the little boy’s optic nerve. Unfortunately drugs weren’t successful and there was little chance Isaac would survive.

“We were told there was no hope,” she said.

But Annie and Isaac held fast to their faith in our almighty God. They asked us—and we in turn asked you—to pray that Isaac would be able to receive the treatment he needed to experience a full recovery. And praise the Lord for answered prayers!

“We went to the eye specialist who wanted to operate on and remove the growth,” said Annie. “But there was no growth there. The eye socket was clear!”

The doctors are in disbelief and cannot understand how the cancer has disappeared, so they are requiring Isaac to complete another round of chemotherapy to ensure all cancer cells are removed. Annie has agreed, but she knows what really happened:

“God has done a miracle in this case!”

Thank you for remembering Isaac in your prayers and please continue to lift him up as he finishes treatment and begins the process of healing.

“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.” 1 John 5:14
