Talking to the people who do the hands-on work of carrying out a project can be inspiring. Take Alvaro Ubilla, who works for one of our ministry partners in Nicaragua:
“I came to work for Amigos for Christ because I loved the ministry. They promoted me to organize the community of Rancho Pando and build a running water system there. I lived in Rancho Pando for two months — away from my wife and three children. The people took me in and we worked together to finish a very hard 4-kilometer water system in only 2 months — one month ahead of schedule! Since then, I have taught the community plumbing skills and leadership skills.
God has blessed me more than I could have imagined. Sometimes this job is very hard, but it is extremely rewarding. When I see the children and old people in the village, I know God used me to expand his kingdom. The people will not only have water for generations to come, but they will also have confidence that they can do all things through Christ. It is beautiful. And this confidence in Christ will allow this community to continue transforming for generations to come.”
