During the past 18 months, the continent of Africa has faced an unprecedented crisis — extremes in weather, from severe drought to hurricane flooding, have greatly affected livestock and food supplies in the region. Goats and cows have died by the hundreds and their bones litter the dusty terrain.
Small farms have been decimated, their fruits and grains withering under the relentless sun. As a result, there’s barely enough food to feed a family, much less to keep the few income generating animals alive. Tribes like the Maasai and Turkana support themselves through their livestock, so when their animals die, so does their hope of surviving.
But thanks to the regular financial support of friends like you, Cross International was able to provide food staples for families struggling to survive. Since the distributions began, there have been no lives lost due to malnutrition. Praise the Lord!
