God’s love, transforming deepest need into thriving joy
It is my honor to host the fourth annual “Cross Classic at Sebonack” tournament at our Sebonack Golf Club. The first three years have been wonderful successes. I’m excited for what is to come this year. Sebonack is such a beautiful course. We’re proud of what we offer to our community of golfers, and as I have been each year, I’m thrilled to be part of this wonderful tournament. Together we will help the most vulnerable children and families in developing countries thrive, giving them hope for a fruitful future.
I continue to be a major supporter of Cross International. My family cares deeply about impoverished children and their families and the way Cross International addresses their needs through the Thriving Kids opportunity.
Together we have the rare opportunity to change lives, and your participation in the “Cross Classic at Sebonack” will bring the needed support: food & education, clean water & safe homes, spiritual guidance, and opportunity for a self-sustaining future to the most vulnerable. You will bring hope for a bright future.
Please know that the few days you spend with us at Sebonack will be filled with fun, comradery and lasting memories, but more importantly will provide the support needed for life changing, sustainable futures for poor children and their families in countries like Guatemala, Zambia, Haiti and more.
Thank you so much for supporting my friends at Cross International.
See you on the links!
For children in Malawi, Guatemala, Vietnam and other developing countries, God’s presence can feel far away when their bellies ache for a morsel of food and their parched lips yearn for a drink of water. Tragically:
Together we have the awesome privilege of showing these boys and girls how much God loves them – of giving them hope and helping them thrive. You can join us in this calling as you participate in the 4th Annual Cross Classic at Sebonack! Together we can compassionately meet their urgent needs through Cross International’s Thriving Kids outreach.
We believe that for children to thrive, they need a stable family, strong community and Christ-centered faith. Thriving Kids provides nutritious food, clean water, safe shelter, medical care, and education for at-risk children, along with micro-enterprise opportunities and training for adults and spiritual guidance for all as the pathways to transformation.
Experience the thrill of playing Sebonack and bring real, lasting change in the lives of impoverished children and their families!
Lundi Nerlande possesses the greatest treasure any child can have: a relationship with Christ. “I know Jesus,” she said. “He’s in my heart. He died for me. I want to serve him.”
Lundi’s faith is being built up day by day with support by Cross International’s Christian school partner in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Without this support, she would not be able to go to school at all. Born into poverty, Lundi lost her mother when she was just a little girl, and her father has struggled to make ends meet for her and her four siblings.
But at School of the Good Sower, Lundi is learning to dream big. She’s gaining the academic tools she needs to pursue a more prosperous future. “I love school and I’m very smart,” she says. “I want to be a nurse so I can take care of sick people.”
Jairling Esquivel is a happy, healthy 1-year-old with a beautiful smile and an amazing story.
A little over a year ago, Jairling almost died. She was wasting away from hunger because her mother, a 13-year-old victim of rape, couldn’t produce breastmilk. But God heard the mother’s prayers and sent an angel of mercy — Cross International’s Guatemalan partner Hope of Life.
Little Jairling was rescued from her rural village deep in the Guatemalan mountains and rushed her to its emergency nutrition center, where she was restored to complete health. She was placed on a diet of baby formula
Today, Jairling continues to thrive. She and her mother are getting the nutrition they need and are safe from those who might do them harm.
The Sebonack Golf Club
405 Sebonac Road
Southampton, New York
Situated on 300 acres in Southampton, NY, and neighboring the historic National Golf Links of America and Shinnecock Hills Golf Course, Sebonack has been carved out of land which seems to have been long-destined to become a golf course.
Sebonack features holes that offer panoramic views of Long Island’s Great Peconic Bay and Cold Spring Pond. The visual impact of the water vistas competes for the golfer’s eye with the rolling fairways, expansive bunkers and waste dunes, and undulating greens that present tricky swales and burrows. Meant to look as if manicured by time, Sebonack appears to have fashioned itself from the wild terrain.
Jack Nicklaus and Tom Doak, two designers with dramatically different styles, have used the natural contours and features of the land to create a unique look. The result is that Links Course at Sebonack looks quite different from its illustrious neighbors and provides a strong golfing challenge for players of all calibers.
It is expected that guests dress in a fashion befitting the surroundings and atmosphere provided in the setting of the Club. Please notify your guests of the following policies.
Proper golf attire is required for all players. This dress code policy applies to every area of the Club with the exception of the privacy of the Golf Cottages.
Men are required to wear collared shirts, and they should be tucked in at all times. Slacks or Bermuda length shorts are considered appropriate. Cargo shorts are not acceptable attire.
Ladies are required to wear slacks, skirts, dresses or Bermuda-length shorts. Shirts must have either collars or sleeves.
The following items of clothing for both men and women are not allowed on the golf course or in the Clubhouse: Cargo shorts, tank tops, T-shirts, mesh shirts, sweatpants, warm-up suits, jeans, denim apparel, spandex and like attire, swimwear, short shorts, cutoffs, gym shorts, and tennis outfits. Improperly dressed golfers will be asked to change before playing.
Golf shoes with soft spikes or spikeless golf shoes must be worn by all golfers.
Based on availability, players and spouses will enjoy accommodations at one of the following Southampton locations:
