Feed Vulnerable School Children

Area of Impact: Education | Malawi | Ambuya Development Center (ADC)
Amount Needed: $50,042

In Malawi’s rural Thanganyika Village, students want to learn, but they face difficult challenges. More than 40 percent of local children suffer from chronic malnutrition, while more than 15 percent are diagnosed with acute malnutrition. Young students are pressured to drop out to help earn money for their poverty-stricken families, and girls as young as 13 are taken out of school to be married off because their families lack the resources to care for them. The Ambuya Development Center feeds 300 orphaned and vulnerable students a substantial meal each school day. Without those meals, many would not eat at all. This necessary nutrition helps them stay enrolled, engaged and on their way to a much better life. Give a vulnerable student the chance to stay in school with a daily meal.

In the event that more funds are raised than needed to fully fund the project, the excess funds, if any, will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the ministry.
