To look at this happy 7-year-old you’d never know her young life had such a tragic start. By the time Meyling came to Arms of Love in Nicaragua, she’d been abused and abandoned, and her little brother had just died of starvation. And then she was truly embraced by ‘Arms of Love.’ In her new home there, Meyling lives in a caring ‘family’ with loving house parents and a small group of children fortunate to call Arms of Love home. Through support from Cross International, she gets clothing, education, and she never goes hungry. Arms of Love even arranged for her to get surgery to correct a speech impediment.
Today Meylng is at the top of her class in school and a leader among her peers. The younger children look up to her like a sister, and she acts as their arbitrator and protector. Through daily prayer and devotions held with her house parents, and weekly worship services led by the children themselves, Meyling has also come to know the Lord. She wants to be a pastor when she grows up.
