2012 Song of the Year

Each year Cross International gives a special award to the writer or music artist who has best conveyed the mission of our ministry in a current song.  Our goal is to inspire more Christian artists to share this vital Gospel message to their listeners worldwide.  Previous winners have been "Follow You" by Leeland, “Keep Changing the World” by Mike's Chair, and "I refuse" by Josh Wilson.

This year, you can help us select the 2012 Harmony of Hearts award winner by voting for the nominee you feel best communicates the importance of mercy and Christian service to the poor. The 2012 nominees are:

"The Proof of Your Love" by For King & Country
Sidewalk Prophets, composed of lead singer Dave Frey, lead guitarist Shaun Tomczak, rhythm guitarist Ben McDonald, bassist Cal Joslin and drummer Justin Nace, won the 2012 Dove award for “New Artist of the Year,” was featured on two consecutive WOW Hits Albums, and is approaching the 10 year mark as a band. Their fourth album Live Like That dropped this year, and the title track hit number two on the U.S. Christian charts.

Formed in Eustis Florida in 1999, Fireflight has been on countless tours, performed at Winter Jam 2012, and this year dropped their fourth full length album titled Now. The band is made up of lead vocalist Dawn Michele, guitarist Justin Cox, bass guitarist Wendy Drennen, guitarist Glenn Drennen, and drummer Adam McMillion.

Australian brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone formed the alternative rock duo For King and Country in 2007, and have been described as “Australia’s answer to Coldplay.” Billboard magazine named them one of the “New Artists to watch for 2012. Their debut album Crave came out this year and featured their hit single The Proof of Your Love.
