Disaster Relief and Recovery

  disaster relief and recovery

When natural disasters such as typhoons, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes hit, the poor are most adversely affected. Often, not only are their homes and meager belongings destroyed, but so are their livelihoods when crops, fishing vessels, or other means of support are wiped out.

Following a disaster, the poor can barely survive day-to-day. The cost to rebuild their homes and livelihoods is utterly out of reach. Cross International is there to help victims of natural disaster survive the immediate crisis, and to help them get back on their feet.

Immediately after disaster strikes, Cross International responds by providing food, bottled water, temporary shelter, medicines, medical supplies, clothes—whatever is needed to meet urgent physical needs and help people get through the initial emergency crisis. Cross has partnerships with churches and Christian outreach organizations throughout the world, which serve as an established distribution network, should a crisis arise. These ministry partners ensure that emergency goods quickly get to those who need them most.

Once the dust settles, and other relief organizations have moved on, Cross stays behind to help the poor rebuild their lives through long-term projects such as homebuilding, farming, and training programs.

Your donation toward Disaster Relief will help ensure that Cross International is prepared to instantly respond in the wake of a natural disaster.
